1C331 Command and Control Operations (C2Ops) Apprentice DL Course – Appraisals Block 1 Practice Test

The situation is about a temporary, mission-tailored way to bring together the right mix of expeditionary, mobility, and space forces under a single command to execute a theater operation. That structure is the Air Expeditionary Task Force. It’s designed to be provisional and to shape the force to the specific mission, while preserving unity of command and unity of effort by placing all assigned forces under one AETF commander with a single operational intent.

Why this fits best: an AETF is created for a particular operation or theater, assembling diverse assets under a single commander who directs all air, mobility, and space-support activities. This ensures everyone works toward the same objectives with a unified command structure and shared goals, rather than spreading authority across multiple commands or creating separate, uncoordinated efforts.

Why the others don’t fit: Air Mobility Command is a permanent major command responsible for airlift and aerial refueling globally, not a provisional force construct. Theater Air Control System is the command-and-control framework for executing air operations in a theater, not the organizational construct used to tailor and command forces for a mission. Space Operations Center is a facility for space operations planning and command, not the general mechanism for organizing expeditionary forces in a theater.
